So I hope Everyone is having a wonderful Christmas. Here's a not so well known fact that not everyone knows Christmas was a celebration started by the new Christians back in the long time ago past. In order to not be a bunch of sticks in the mud they decided to celebrate and party at the same time pegans did so as to not discourage new christian arrivals. They didn't all decide to take over and ruin things for pegans by destroying their celebration and replace it with what we have now. I'm pretty sure they had no idea it beome what it is now.

Funny pattern it's had though.
Non-Secular—> Pegan celebration
Non-Secular—> Christian celebration of Jesus
Secular—> Celebration of sugar, family and oodles of materialistic pieces of plastic

But I do loooove my new materialistic piece of plastic. So SO SOO very mucho.

Apple and the Tree

My dad and I are Indie. I say that because apparently "a hipster doesn't call themselves hipster doncha kno?" I don't know why they'd have that accent since since I'm in Indiana and not that other state that talks like that.I know nothing of the midwest.
Anyways, my dad and I have pretty darn nerdy conversations. I guess it comes from the fact that I'm an animation major and he's a graphic designer. Both artists in our our respects. We agree on the same music, same paintings, same artists, same commercials. Yep commercials. My family is a major tv family. Commercialism is a big thing in the business of graphic designers. My dad does lots of work in advertisement and we know bad ads when we see them. I think we as a family built up a natural defence against being brainwashed by consumerism by using sarcasm and wit to combat lame commercials. We judge very harshly. Super bowl time is one of our favorite times of the year to watch what commercials made it to the top this year.

Me and him have a connection like that. an internet connection. Since he's on the computer for work most of his waking life and then more some at home. And me, I'm constantly entertaining/working/studying/working/moreworking from a computer. We share links like a 10 year old in the 90's traded Pokemon cards. I'm pretty convinced he's got his soul backed up on his Mac somewhere.
That's another thing, I'm almost positive that he hypnotized me and my sister from birth to love the Mac and only the Mac. It worked, I type this from my MacBook Pro I named her Lucy. And they are better then PC's. Getting into debates over windows vs. macs always gives me a bit of joy inside because PC's suck and I have a pride problem where I feel victorious in life because I believe in the Mac and the Mac is the best. Stating that now it looks really pathetic but that's ok because I got a Mac.

See how well he's got me hypnotized? I'm really thankful then that my dad was good at it as opposed to my mom.
